reflection

-
Using prisms and reflective surfaces as tools of transformation, this series challenges traditional portrait photography by fragmenting and reconstructing visual narratives through crystalline distortions. The interplay between sequined textures and prismatic light creates an ethereal atmosphere where reality merges with its reflected counterpart, suggesting multiple dimensions of a single moment. The series deliberately employs analog photography processes to capture the organic, unpredictable nature of light refraction, resulting in images that hover between documentation and abstraction.

The series combines Kodak Gold 200's consistent color reproduction with Revolog Laser's distinctive linear light patterns, while utilizing both handheld prisms and a reflective studio backdrop to create multiple layers of distortion. Studio lighting is precisely positioned to interact with both the film's pre-exposed laser effects and the prisms' refractive properties, while sequined garments add another dimension of light play. The Revolog Laser film introduces geometric patterns that intersect with the natural prismatic effects, creating unexpected compositions where light appears to fold back on itself. Gold 200's faithful color rendition maintains the integrity of skin tones even through multiple layers of reflection, while the prisms, positioned at varying distances from the lens, fragment and reconstruct the studio space.
